Humble Rodeo BBQ Cook-Off

This week's BBQ quest will take us to the Humble Rodeo BBQ Cook-off on the grounds of the Humble Convention Center in Humble, TX. I'll be hanging out and helping with the "Tin Roof Cookers" team from Tin Roof BBQ in Atascocita.

(Follow Tin Roof on Twitter at twitter.com/TinRoofBBQ, or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TinRoofBBQ)

On the home page for the Cook-off, the organizers say "In association with the Humble Rodeo, the Humble BBQ Cook-Off serves as a TGCBCA-sanctioned event held on a 10-acre concrete parking lot adjacent to the Humble Civic Center the weekend prior to the Rodeo.

From its humble beginnings in 2003, the BBQ Cook-Off has more than doubled its number of BBQ cooking teams from 32 to 65 in just the past two years. Our Grand Champions since 2005 have been eligible to compete in the American Royal Invitational in Kansas City, Mo., and are entered into a lottery to attend the world’s most challenging BBQ Cook-Off, the Jack Daniels Invitational in Lynchburg, Tn. That’s no small potatoes, folks."

So if you're looking for a fun, local event in the Houston area this Saturday, come join us for the BBQ Cook-off at the Humble Rodeo. It's sure to be a great time with some great food to share. Stop by and see me at the Tin Roof compound!

Pictures and story to follow next week.

Scott
